A secure cycle hangar would be preferable to a cycle stand. There is a lot of free space in the parking lot so it should be possible to install without issues.

Now that’s how you design a quick build cycle lane and bus stop!! Admittedly, it does help if you’ve spent half a century aggressively widening roads in the name of car dominance.

Something has been built, and covered in plastic sheet, behind the row of piles - but it's not one of the 8 culvert sections which are still waiting in the compound.

Curved sections - perhaps formers to go with shuttering? - in the compound.

The cycle crossings in this area are poorly maintained. This one doesn't drain properly, there's a big pile of mud which is a potential slip hazard for cyclists turning right.

An extra beefy line has been installed here, although it will need wand protection to prevent intrusion by drivers.

Temporary no-entry for motor vehicles and extra wide cycle lane for cycling, due to COVID-19 This filter makes a big difference, especially as at the top (and west) Deansgate has been temporarily pedestrianised.

  • Icon 152256 This would make a great alternative to the busy Belgrave Road and Loughborough for cyclists if a cycleway was included in the pedestrian only sections or Ross Walk along with a contraflow cycle lane on the 20m of Ross Walk that has been made one way to prevent cars from using it as a rat run. This would make cycling in to town from Belgrave Village much more pleasant and might encourage people on the BSU new housing estate to travel to the city centre by bike. Currently, the no cycling sections and one way section cause a big detour on what is otherwise a safe, quiet and pleasant route.
  • Icon 152255 From where the cycle path stops at the junction of ferry road all the way along main road and Lynn road to Terrington St. Clement and beyond, would be nice if there was a cycle path.

  • Icon 152249 Pavement covered in dog mess
  • Icon 152248 I don't want to cycle here in the winter as there is no cycle path ,and no lighting.
  • Icon 152247 Cycle route comes to an abrupt end leaving cyclists to have no choice but to cycle in the very busy pedmore road
  • Icon 152242 There is no adequate cycle route through this area. Remove 1 or 2 all-traffic lanes and install protected 2-way cycle track. Remove traffic lights.
  • Icon 152241 Cycle track is regularly blocked by illegal parking, typically for the pharmacy or Conservative Club. Enforce the ban on parking here, and use engineering measures to make parking impossible.
